MDSplus has been known to run on the following platforms

  • AIX
  • Compaq Tru64 Unix
  • HPUX
  • IRIX
  • Linux
  • OpenVMS
  • SunOS
  • Windows
  • Mac OSX

Note, the bulk of MDSplus development work is performed on linux and windows systems and the developers may not have access to many of the platforms listed above to ensure that changes made to the code are still compatible with those platforms. When working with other platforms, you may find it necessary to make a few changes to Makefile's or code to get the programs to build correctly on your platform. If you have identified tweaks to the the code or build procedures that are needed for your platform please relay those changes back to the MDSplus developers using the MDSplus mailing list so that we may incorporate those changes into the MDSplus cvs repository so that others can benefit from your experience.
